That Voice in Your Head? Let’s Rewire It.
You can remove the roadblocks by changing those old subconscious messages
Hello again,
You already know about the voice you hear most often…that little voice inside your head.
You know the one. The voice that says things like:
“You messed up again.”
“Why can’t you just stick to it?”
“You’re never going to lose this weight.”
That voice might seem like it’s the real you, but here’s something important to know: it’s not.
So Where Does That Voice Come From?
That inner critic? It’s just a recording.
A recording of old beliefs, past experiences, and things you’ve heard from others (perhaps from your childhood).
It’s the part of your subconscious that thinks it’s protecting you.
The subconscious cannot distinguish the difference between what’s real and what isn’t.
If somewhere along the line it took in the belief that losing weight is hard or impossible, it thinks it’s keeping you safe by playing back that old recording.
The problem is… it’s keeping you stuck.
Rewriting the Script
The good news is the programming in your subconscious isn’t written in stone — it’s possible to rewrite those old beliefs and programs.
Your subconscious can take in new, helpful beliefs and let go of the old roadblocks it’s been holding onto.
And no, we’re not talking about weak affirmations taped to your mirror. (although those can be helpful when used correctly.)
We’re talking about positive change on a deep level.
Why does that matter? Because the person you want to become is already inside you. You know that person is in there, you’re just not sure how to let them rise to the top.
Practice This Right Now
Here’s a super simple shift that works wonders over time:
Every time you catch that negative voice popping up, imagine hitting the brakes on your thought process and respond with:
“That’s not me anymore.”
“I’m learning. I’m changing. I’m growing.”
“That used to be true. It’s not anymore.”
It will feel awkward at first — but know this, your subconscious is listening.
Over time, those new thoughts become stronger, more kind, and more aligned with the future you.
